Grandpa Frank’s French Dressing…with my twist :)

My Grandpa Frank, or Papa as we called him, was an amazing man. He preached pride and respect, but was one of the most loving and compassionate people I ever knew. Sadly, he passed away in August, but he left me with some of the greatest Italian recipes.

I always thought it was extremely random, and a little weird, that my Italian family made French dressing. We make great Italian dressing, too, but the French is to die for and definitely blog worthy. My friend Cristina’s husband will literally eat this stuff on anything. I just like it on a simple green salad with some homemade croutons.

Ingredients:
1/3 cup ketchup
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. paprika
minced garlic to taste. I use a lot… I’m Italian. (I NEVER use that stuff from the jar. Mince your own. It is worth it)
bleu cheese to taste (I HATE cheese, especially bleu, but apparently the dressing with the cheese is delicious).

Directions:
Place all ingredients in a shakable container (I typically use a mason jar) and shake. This recipe is very easily doubled or tripled. Store in the refrigerator.

Thirdculturefoodie, you can finally get off my back. I am an official blogger.
